The new Apple Intelligence feature on the iPhone 16 has been built “from the ground up” to understand language and images. Craig Federighi introduced the feature at Apple’s Glowtime event today (Monday) which saw the launch of the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus — the first iPhone fully integrated with Apple Intelligence.

During Monday’s iPhone 16 event, Apple announced a brand new lineup of iPhones, AirPods and AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and an Apple Watch Series 10. Apple also took the opportunity to expand on some Apple Intelligence features, the artificial intelligence (AI) tools coming to the iPhone.

Apple today announced the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, which Apple said “is built from the ground up” for Apple Intelligence. The iPhone 16 features a new capacitive button on the side of the device to make it easier to capture photos and videos; Apple calls this the ‘Camera Control’.

Apple previewed the iPhone 16 models today, featuring a new Camera Control button located on the right side of the iPhone under the power button. This button is designed for multiple functions in both landscape and portrait modes when capturing images and videos.

Apple has revealed all the details of its upcoming iPhone 16 lineup, and among them is a single-click button on the side of the phone for camera control. The announcement came during Apple’s annual September device event on Monday morning at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 on Monday night, with the range set to be the first to include the tech giant’s new AI tools at launch. Dubbed Apple Intelligence by the US firm, the AI features include an upgrade to virtual assistant Siri, image generation and text-editing tools, as well as transcription and other capabilities – with more expected to be announced on Monday.
