Halide, a popular iPhone photography app, will not be adding video capture features. Instead, the development team behind Halide is working on a new dedicated video capture app called Kino. Kino aims to provide professional recording features and takes advantage of Apple’s support for log video encoding, which allows for more detailed post-production color grading.

Following the release of iOS 17.2 Beta 4 last week, Apple has now shipped the Release Candidate or RC version to developers and testers. The latest firmware does give a hint of the new features and changes that might make it to the final version.

iOS 17.2, the upcoming operating system update for Apple’s iPhone, will bring several improvements and new features to the devices. One major improvement is the extension of Qi2 compatibility to all models in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series.

The camera smarts in Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro are downright intimidating, but this phone produces amazing photos once you get familiar with them. I’ve only become more in tune with this phone’s tricks since I wrote my iPhone 15 Pro review this past fall.
