2025 MacBook Air to Feature Front Ultra Wide Camera, M4 Chip Upgrade Expected
The upcoming 2025 MacBook Air is set to debut with a chip upgrade to the M4 and a new ‘Front Ultra Wide Camera,’ potentially similar to the Center Stage camera.
The 2025 MacBook Air is poised to receive a significant upgrade, including the introduction of Apple’s M4 chip. However, the most notable addition could be the “Front Ultra Wide Camera,” according to recent reports from AppleInsider. This camera is expected to surpass the current 1080p FaceTime camera found on the M3 MacBook Air, marking a step toward improved camera functionality.
In line with the M4 MacBook Pro and M4 iMac, which both upgraded to 12MP Center Stage cameras, the M4 MacBook Air is likely to feature a similar camera system. Despite speculation that Apple might reserve camera upgrades for higher-end models like the 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro, it seems Apple is making the upgraded camera a standard feature for the Air as well.
References to the M4 MacBook Air have also been found in the macOS Sequoia 15.2 update, reinforcing the expectation of a 2025 release. While a specific launch date has not been confirmed, a March to May release window seems likely, following the launch of the M3 MacBook Air in March 2024.
