Apple to Enter Smart Home Market with New IP Camera
Apple plans to launch an IP camera in 2026, assembled by Chinese manufacturer Goertek.
Apple is reportedly planning to expand its presence in the smart home industry, with plans to release an internet protocol (IP) camera by 2026. This move signals the tech giant’s interest in competing with established players like Google and Amazon in the home security and surveillance market.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known industry analyst, Chinese component manufacturer Goertek will be responsible for assembling the device. The ambitious production target suggests Apple anticipates a significant demand, with the company aiming for tens of millions of units in annual shipments once the product is fully rolled out.
In addition to the new camera, Goertek is also rumored to be involved in the production of upcoming AirPod models. These new iterations of Apple’s popular wireless earbuds are expected to feature enhanced health-related capabilities, further building on the hearing aid functionality introduced with the AirPods Pro 2.
This expansion highlights Apple’s strategic focus on integrating health and smart home technologies, potentially bringing a new wave of innovation to its product lineup.
