Apple Plans Future Smart Home Camera and Health-Enhanced AirPods
Apple anticipates launching a smart home camera and health-focused AirPods by 2026, expanding its tech portfolio.
Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed details of two upcoming products expected from Apple within the next few years: a smart home camera and new AirPods with additional health management features. These innovations signal Apple’s continued growth in smart home technology and personal health monitoring.
Kuo reported that Apple aims to begin mass production of a smart home camera in 2026, targeting a long-term goal of selling tens of millions of units. The camera is expected to feature wireless connectivity and tight integration with Apple Intelligence and Siri, enhancing functionality for Apple ecosystem users. Although detailed specifications remain undisclosed, Kuo’s insights reflect Apple’s strategic expansion into smart home tech.
Earlier rumors have pointed to the development of a smart home display that could launch as early as 2025. However, Kuo’s report suggests that the 2026 camera is a distinct product, separate from the anticipated display device.
In addition, Kuo indicated that Apple plans to introduce future AirPods models equipped with more health management capabilities, aligning with similar features in the Apple Watch. Chinese manufacturer Goertek will reportedly be the primary supplier for the 2026 AirPods model, while it is also slated to assemble the smart home camera. Potential health-tracking features could include heart rate monitoring—previously reported to debut in Apple’s upcoming Powerbeats Pro 2— and possibly sensors for body temperature monitoring, underscoring Apple’s commitment to integrating health metrics across its product line.
