Apple Intelligence Now Available in Australia and New Zealand

Apple has expanded its Apple Intelligence offerings to users in Australia and New Zealand with the release of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2. This update introduces a suite of new AI-powered features designed to enhance user experience while maintaining a strong focus on privacy.

Apple Intelligence, which integrates seamlessly across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, now supports localized English for users in Australia and New Zealand, joining existing regions such as Canada, Ireland, South Africa, the UK, and the US. The update introduces several exciting capabilities, including the Clean Up tool for removing unwanted objects from photos, Image Playground for creative image generation, Genmoji for personalized emojis, and Writing Tools to improve written content. Additionally, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro users can now enjoy a new visual intelligence feature through Camera Control, which helps identify objects and provides context about the user’s surroundings.

For users looking to streamline their writing process, the integration of ChatGPT within Writing Tools and Siri allows seamless access to ChatGPT’s expertise without leaving the app, making it easier to compose text or ask questions. Users can also explore new ways of enhancing their photos and notes with features like smart search and enhanced memory creation in the Photos app, or create personalized images in the Image Playground.

Further language support will be rolled out later in the year, with additional languages, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese, expected to be available by April.

Apple has also emphasized its commitment to user privacy. Apple Intelligence relies on on-device processing for many features, with Private Cloud Compute ensuring that data remains secure and private. Users retain full control over their data, with Apple guaranteeing that no information is stored or shared without consent.

Apple Intelligence is available as a free update for compatible devices, including iPhone 16 series, iPad models with A17 Pro or M1 chips, and Mac models with M1 chips and later.
