Apple Introduces Repair Program for iPhone 14 Plus Camera Issues
Apple has launched a free repair service for a rear camera issue affecting a small percentage of iPhone 14 Plus units.
Apple has announced a new service program aimed at addressing rear camera issues in the iPhone 14 Plus, which can prevent the camera preview from displaying. This marks Apple’s first service initiative for an iPhone model in several years, specifically affecting units manufactured between April 10 and April 28, 2023.
According to Apple, only a small percentage of iPhone 14 Plus devices are experiencing this problem. Customers who believe their device is affected can verify eligibility by entering their serial number on Apple’s dedicated website. Eligible users can then visit an authorized service provider or an Apple Store for a free repair.
It’s important to note that any pre-existing damage, such as a cracked back glass, must be repaired before the service can proceed, and customers will be responsible for those repair costs. Furthermore, individuals who paid for a rear camera repair on an eligible device prior to the announcement can request a refund.
For those opting for in-person service, Apple will inspect the device to confirm eligibility. Users are also advised to back up their iPhone data to iCloud or a computer before bringing it in for repair. The iPhone 14 Plus was originally launched in India at a starting price of ₹89,900, and is currently available on Flipkart for ₹56,999.
