Apple iPhone SE 4 Case Leak Reveals Additional Hidden Details

On October 12th, whistleblower Sonny Dickson revealed a photo claiming to show a protective case for the upcoming fourth-generation Apple iPhone SE, which is anticipated for release in early 2025.

The leaked image indicates that the protective case design for the new iPhone SE is quite similar to the current model, featuring cutouts for a single rear camera, flash, a mute switch, and raised sections for the volume and power buttons. However, the new iPhone SE is expected to be larger due to it being based on the design of the iPhone 14.

Rumors suggest the fourth-generation iPhone SE will sport a 6.1-inch OLED display, a significant upgrade from the 4.7-inch LED-backlit screen on the current model. While the rear camera cutout resembles that of the current iPhone SE, it is speculated that the new version will feature a 48-megapixel main camera alongside a 12-megapixel front camera.

In addition to these camera upgrades, the device is expected to transition from Touch ID to Face ID and shift from a Lightning port to a USB-C port. With the adoption of Face ID, the new iPhone SE will feature a notched display and may support some, if not all, of the dynamic island features found in other Apple devices.

Reports also suggest that the fourth-generation iPhone SE will be powered by Apple’s A18 chip and come with 8GB of RAM, aligning with Apple’s push towards enhanced performance and compatibility with its latest software features.

While the exact release date remains uncertain, it is speculated that the device could launch in the spring of 2025, following Apple’s traditional timeline for SE releases. If these predictions hold, it is possible that Apple will discontinue the iPhone 14 after the new SE’s release, though it remains unclear whether the iPhone 14 Plus will face the same fate.
