Apple Plans to Launch First Branded Smart IP Camera in 2026

Apple is reportedly set to launch its first branded smart IP camera, marking a new venture in home surveillance

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Apple may release its first Apple-branded smart IP camera in 2026. This report, shared on Medium, also indicates that Chinese manufacturer Goertek will likely handle the assembly. While Apple has previously partnered with brands such as Logitech and Eve for HomeKit-compatible cameras, an Apple-branded model would be Cupertino’s first in the smart home security market. This move not only showcases Apple’s interest in expanding its product line but also taps into a booming sector with tens of millions of units shipped globally each year.

With a reported long-term objective of shipping over 10 million units annually, Apple’s new product may present a lucrative opportunity. The camera would leverage Apple’s HomeKit technology, which has already set high standards in the smart home market, offering users seamless integration within Apple’s ecosystem.

Apple’s decision to partner with Goertek is not unexpected, given their established relationship through Goertek’s manufacturing of AirPods. Ming-Chi Kuo also suggested that Goertek might produce a new AirPods model slated for release around the same time in 2026. With health-focused features on Apple Watches driving demand, the projected sales of AirPods for that year could reach an impressive 65–68 million units.

Though specific details of Apple’s IP camera remain limited, industry expectations are high. Apple’s reputation for innovation suggests that its entry into the home-surveillance camera market will make a substantial impact, enhancing both functionality and security features.
