Apple Unveils the New MacBook Pro with M4 Chips and Apple Intelligence

Apple’s latest MacBook Pro with M4 family chips, Thunderbolt 5, and advanced AI-powered features redefines pro performance.

Apple has introduced a new generation of MacBook Pro, powered by the M4 family of chips—M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max—ushering in a leap forward in computing power and AI-driven innovation. Available in both space black and silver, the MacBook Pro offers a 14-inch version with M4 starting at $1,599 and additional models with the powerful M4 Pro and M4 Max for high-performance needs.

The advanced M4 family is designed using second-generation 3-nanometer technology, achieving top-tier CPU performance with robust AI capabilities. Featuring a blend of enhanced machine learning accelerators, advanced GPUs, and more efficient Neural Engines, these processors bring unparalleled performance to support tasks such as large language models and extensive project workloads, while boasting up to 24 hours of battery life—the longest yet for a MacBook.

Enhanced Features for Creative Professionals and Power Users

Apple’s new MacBook Pro includes upgrades tailored to professional users. A key enhancement is the new 12MP Center Stage camera, which adapts to user movement, perfect for high-quality video calls. The models with M4 Pro and M4 Max are equipped with Thunderbolt 5 ports, providing twice the transfer speed and enabling faster data flow for external storage and other peripherals. The 16-inch MacBook Pro starts at $2,499, while the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Pro starts at $1,999. Both sizes include Apple’s Liquid Retina XDR display with a new nano-texture option for reducing glare in bright environments, supporting SDR content up to 1000 nits.

The 14-inch model with the M4 chip is well-suited for creators and students, featuring a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU for exceptional image and video editing. Models with M4 Pro offer a 14-core CPU, 20-core GPU, and 75% increased memory bandwidth over previous versions, ideal for research and engineering. For professionals requiring maximum power, the 16-core M4 Max CPU and 40-core GPU allow complex AI and creative tasks to be executed smoothly, supporting up to 128GB of unified memory for efficient interactions with large-scale language models.

MacOS Sequoia and Apple Intelligence

macOS Sequoia complements the MacBook Pro’s hardware with new productivity and personal intelligence tools. Apple Intelligence is central to this upgrade, featuring advanced on-device AI functionality such as enhanced Siri capabilities, custom emojis, and sophisticated image creation tools. Privacy-focused, Apple Intelligence is available on macOS Sequoia 15.1, launching with U.S. English and expanding globally over the coming year.

A Shift in Sustainable Design

Apple’s commitment to sustainability is evident in the new MacBook Pro, which is crafted from 100% recycled aluminum, rare earth elements, and tin. Packaging for the 14-inch model is now fully fiber-based, aligning with Apple’s pledge to eliminate plastic from its packaging by 2025 and become entirely carbon neutral by 2030.

Pre-orders for the new MacBook Pro are now open, with availability in stores starting November 8.
