Apple to Launch its First Smart IP Camera in 2026, Partnering with Chinese Manufacturer Goertek

Apple’s first HomeKit-compatible smart IP camera may debut in 2026, aiming for millions in annual shipments

According to recent insights from TF Securities International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch its first-ever smart IP camera by 2026, with China’s Goertek chosen as the assembly supplier. This move marks a significant expansion of Apple’s HomeKit ecosystem, as the company has previously relied on collaborations with brands like Logitech and Eve to support its home surveillance offerings.

Smart IP cameras have become essential in home surveillance, operating over wired or wireless networks and representing a multibillion-dollar market with tens of millions of units shipped annually. Ming-Chi Kuo’s report notes Apple’s ambition for substantial market presence, targeting over 10 million units in annual shipments for this product line, which could potentially make Apple’s entry a major disruptor in the space.

The selection of Goertek is unsurprising, given its established partnership with Apple, most notably in producing AirPods. As per Kuo’s analysis, Goertek is expected to continue manufacturing Apple’s upcoming AirPods model, also slated for release in 2026. This product line is projected to benefit from Apple’s emphasis on health-management features, which have already boosted Apple Watch sales, potentially driving AirPod shipments to reach between 65 and 68 million units by 2026.

While specific technical details remain sparse, the anticipated IP camera will likely integrate deeply with Apple’s proprietary HomeKit technology, offering a secure and user-friendly experience for smart home enthusiasts. The integration of Apple’s technology could redefine industry standards for smart home security and create further momentum for the brand in the home surveillance sector.
