Apple Poised to Launch Its First Smart IP Camera in 2026
Apple’s first venture into branded smart IP cameras, manufactured by Goertek, could shake up the home surveillance industry.
According to a report from TF Securities International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is expected to introduce its first branded smart IP camera in 2026, partnering with Chinese manufacturer Goertek for assembly. This marks Apple’s initial foray into the smart IP camera market, a space it has traditionally entered by supporting third-party brands compatible with its HomeKit ecosystem, like the Logitech Circle View and Eve Outdoor Cam. The new Apple-branded camera could represent a significant expansion of its offerings within smart home technology.
Smart IP cameras, which can function via wired or wireless connections, have become a mainstay in home surveillance. With millions of units sold each year, the demand is substantial, and Apple has ambitious plans, reportedly aiming to ship over 10 million units annually for this product line.
The choice of Goertek as the assembly partner is consistent with Apple’s longstanding relationship with the manufacturer, which also produces AirPods. Kuo’s report further suggests that Goertek will likely handle production for Apple’s next AirPods model, anticipated to launch in 2026. Leveraging the health-management appeal of Apple Watches, the new AirPods model could contribute to expected sales of 65–68 million units.
While detailed specifications for Apple’s smart IP camera remain under wraps, Apple’s integration of advanced HomeKit technology into a proprietary surveillance camera could have a significant impact on the market. As Apple’s innovative technology influences home surveillance, the arrival of its smart IP camera is highly anticipated.
