Apple rumored to incorporate tetraprism zoom lens in upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models: Report
Apple is planning to introduce tetraprism camera technology to its iPhone 16 Pro models next year, allowing for at least 5x optical zoom and 25x digital zoom on the Telephoto lens. To meet production demands, Apple will also bring in LG Innotek as a supplier for the folded zoom module. The iPhone 15 Pro already has a 12-megapixel Telephoto camera with 3x zoom, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max offers an enhanced Telephoto system with 5x zoom. The iPhone 15 Pro Max utilizes tetraprism technology, which reflects light four times, enabling a longer focal length of 120mm. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that the tetraprism lens will be included in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. On a separate note, Apple has released software updates to address two zero-day security vulnerabilities that were actively exploited in the wild. These vulnerabilities affected iOS, iPadOS, and macOS versions prior to the 16.7.1 update.
