Apple's iPhone Pro camera may finally bridge the gap with Androids
A leaker has posted camera details for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro series. According to the leak, the iPhone 16 Pro series may come with a 48MP ultrawide camera, an upgrade from the 12MP sensor on the iPhone 15 line. The 48MP ultrawide camera could improve low-light capture and potentially enable higher resolution video recording. Although other smartphone brands have already offered high-resolution ultrawide cameras, this would still be a welcome upgrade for Apple.
The iPhone 17 Pro series is rumored to receive a bigger camera upgrade. The leak suggests that the phone may feature a 48MP telephoto camera. This would be a significant improvement over the 12MP 5x camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, offering higher-quality hybrid zoom. Some upcoming flagship Android phones are even expected to have 160MP or 200MP telephoto cameras in 2024.
Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro series is said to include an upgraded 48MP main camera with a larger sensor size and pixel size. This could result in brighter and clearer photos. However, it’s important to note that these upgrades are still in the rumor stage, and things may change before the release of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro lines.
