Introducing the Apple Vision Pro: An Exciting Upgrade for the iPhone 15 Pro's Spatial Video Capture
iPhone 15 Pro users can now capture spatial videos using the Apple Vision Pro feature, thanks to the latest iOS 17.2 update. This feature was showcased during Apple’s WWDC 2023 event, where viewers were impressed with the visual stereo effect created as the perspective changed. With spatial video, users can record moments and later relive them through the Apple Vision Pro, as if they were back in that moment. To enable this feature, users need to access the Settings app, select Camera, and toggle on the Spatial Video for Apple Vision Pro option. Once enabled, a “Spatial” option will appear in the Camera app when set to Video mode. The spatial video is recorded at a rate of 30 fps and a resolution of 1080p, with each minute of video taking up approximately 130MB of storage. The iPhone 15 Pro captures spatial video by simultaneously recording from the Main and Ultra Wide cameras and saves it as a single video file. However, users will have to wait until early 2024 for the release of the Apple Vision Pro headset to fully enjoy the immersive experience provided by spatial videos. In the meantime, these videos can be watched on iPhones and other devices and shared with others.
