Blackmagic Introduces $30K 3D Camera for Vision Pro
The URSA Cine Immersive camera captures 3D content with dual 8K sensors for Vision Pro compatibility.
Blackmagic has unveiled the URSA Cine Immersive camera, a cutting-edge device specifically designed to create 3D content for Apple’s Vision Pro headset. This commercial-grade camera system, first revealed in June, is now available for pre-order at a price of $30,000, with deliveries expected by late Q1 2025.
Equipped with a custom stereoscopic 3D lens system, the URSA Cine Immersive camera features dual 8K sensors capable of capturing a 180-degree field of view. It supports spatial audio and can record up to 90 frames per second. The resulting content delivers an impressive resolution of 8,160 x 7,200 pixels per eye, along with 16 stops of dynamic range for exceptional detail and color fidelity.
The camera also boasts dual 5-inch HDR touchscreens and an external color status LCD screen. Connectivity options include 12G-SDI output, 10G Ethernet, USB-C, XLR audio ports, and an 8-pin Lemo connector for power. It comes with an 8TB Blackmagic Media Module that can store approximately two hours of 8K stereoscopic footage recorded in Blackmagic RAW format. Additionally, Cloud Store integration enables fast media uploads and synchronization.
