iPhone 15 Pro Cameras Enhanced in iOS 17.2 Update with Added Qi2 Wireless Charging for Older iPhones

A new version of iOS, iOS 17.2, is on its way and it brings some exciting updates for iPhone 15 Pro users. One notable improvement is a boost to the telephoto camera on the Pro models. According to 9to5Mac, users can expect increased speed when using the lens to capture small, distant objects. While the review did not identify slow focus speeds as a major issue for the iPhone 15 Pro models, any improvement is always welcome. It may still not be as good as the zoom lens on the Pixel 8 Pro, but there’s always room for improvement in future iterations.

But that’s not all iOS 17.2 has to offer. In addition to camera enhancements for the Pro models, iPhone 13 and 14 users will also benefit from a new feature: Qi2 charging. Qi2 is the latest and fastest wireless charging standard available for iPhones. It allows users to utilize chargers with up to 15W of power, which is double the previous limit of 7.5W. TechRadar points out that this feature was already available on the iPhone 15, while iPhones 13 and 14 were limited to 15W using a MagSafe charger. With the introduction of Qi2 charging, users now have the option to use third-party chargers that are likely more affordable, breaking free from the proprietary Apple ecosystem. It’s a pleasant surprise from Apple just in time for the holidays.
