Eufy Launches Indoor Cam E30 with Apple HomeKit Support and 4K Recording

The new Eufy Indoor Cam E30 offers 4K recording, AI improvements, and HomeKit compatibility at a competitive price.

Eufy has made a surprising return to Apple HomeKit with the launch of the Indoor Cam E30, its second HomeKit-compatible camera this year. The E30 is an upgrade over the company’s previous indoor pan-and-tilt camera, the 2020 model, offering 4K recording instead of the previous 2K resolution. However, due to Apple Home’s current limitation to 1080p video streaming, users can only enjoy the full 4K resolution via the Eufy app.

The E30 is designed for flexibility, featuring pan-and-tilt capabilities that provide a 360-degree horizontal view. This can be controlled through the Eufy app, though it remains unclear if the camera can be integrated directly into Apple Home without using the app. The camera supports the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band and lacks support for HomeKit Secure Video, though this may be added later, as many other Eufy cameras include the feature.

Visually, the E30 closely resembles the earlier Indoor Cam C210, with a built-in spotlight for color night vision, which can be switched off for standard black-and-white night vision. A major upgrade is its AI performance, which enables the camera to better distinguish between humans, pets, and different types of sounds. This is especially beneficial for its tracking feature, which can follow both humans and pets more accurately.

Additional features include on-device SD card recording to avoid subscription fees, a built-in speaker for two-way audio, and the ability to mount the camera on the ceiling. While the E30 lacks a built-in siren, like previous Eufy PTZ models, its integrated speaker still provides an alert feature. Despite some past security issues with Eufy’s cameras, the E30 aims to improve both functionality and privacy.

The Eufy Indoor Cam E30 is now available on Amazon for $69.99, with a discount code bringing the price down to $59.99, making it an affordable option for those seeking a high-quality HomeKit-compatible camera.
