Eufy Launches New Indoor Cam E30 with 4K Recording and Apple HomeKit Support

Eufy’s new E30 camera offers 4K recording, AI tracking, and HomeKit compatibility, priced at $59.99 with discounts.

Eufy has introduced its second HomeKit-compatible camera this year, the Indoor Cam E30, signaling the company’s return to Apple Home integration after a period of uncertainty. The E30 represents an upgrade over its predecessor, the Indoor Cam C210, launched in 2020. While the C210 offered a 1080p resolution, the E30 boosts the resolution to 4K, although Apple Home currently limits live streams and recordings to 1080p. Full 4K footage is available only through the Eufy app, making the higher resolution a partial benefit.

A key feature of the E30 is its pan-and-tilt (PTZ) capability, providing a 360º horizontal view. Users can manually control the camera’s position, but again, this feature is only accessible via the Eufy app, not directly through Apple Home. The camera can also be mounted to the ceiling using an included mounting plate.

What sets the E30 apart from previous models is its built-in spotlight, which enables color night vision. Users can still choose the standard black-and-white night vision mode if preferred. The E30 also supports on-device recording with an SD card, avoiding the monthly fees typically associated with cloud storage, although cloud options remain available for those who prefer them.

Eufy claims that AI improvements have enhanced the camera’s ability to distinguish between humans, pets, and different types of sounds. The AI-driven tracking feature allows the E30 to follow both people and animals more accurately. However, it’s unclear whether the camera supports HomeKit Secure Video, a feature typically available in other Eufy cameras.

While the E30 is equipped with a two-way speaker, there is no mention of a siren, a feature present in earlier PTZ models. Additionally, it is uncertain whether two-way audio functionality works with Apple Home, as previous Eufy cameras have not fully supported this feature within the Home ecosystem. Some users may also wonder whether the E30 can be added directly to Apple Home without the Eufy app, as was the case with previous devices.

Lastly, for long-time Eufy users, the company’s past security lapses—where some users gained access to live video feeds from other accounts—might cast a shadow over the E30’s release. It remains to be seen whether Eufy has fully addressed these security concerns.

The Eufy Indoor Cam E30 is now available for purchase on Amazon for $69.99, with a $10 discount when using the code EUFY8417 at checkout, bringing the price down to $59.99. This pricing makes the E30 an affordable option for those seeking a 4K PTZ camera with Apple Home compatibility.
