Eufy Launches Indoor Cam E30: A New 4K HomeKit-Compatible Camera

Eufy unveils its second HomeKit-compatible camera, the Indoor Cam E30, featuring 4K resolution and advanced tracking capabilities.

Anker’s Eufy has made an unexpected return to Apple’s HomeKit ecosystem, unveiling its second HomeKit-compatible security camera in recent months. The Eufy Indoor Cam E30, now available for $69.99, features a motorized lens capable of panning, tilting, and zooming around a room. The camera integrates seamlessly with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit platforms. Prime members can grab the device at a discounted price of $59.99.

The Indoor Cam E30 follows the September launch of the S3 Pro Outdoor Cam, marking Eufy’s renewed focus on HomeKit support. Functionally, the Indoor Cam E30 builds upon its predecessor, the Indoor Cam 2K Pan and Tilt, first released in 2020. However, this latest model represents a major upgrade, delivering 4K video resolution—an improvement over the previous 2K limit. It’s important to note that HomeKit users will still be limited to a maximum of 1080p video quality.

A key feature of the Indoor Cam E30 is its built-in spotlight, which enhances nighttime visibility with full-color night vision. When ambient lighting is insufficient, the device switches seamlessly to infrared night vision. Equipped with on-device AI processing, the camera can detect and differentiate between people and pets, providing more precise alerts. It also listens for significant audio cues, such as a crying baby, making it suitable for both home security and indoor monitoring.

The Indoor Cam E30’s motorized lens offers not just static surveillance but active tracking of detected movement, following people or pets as they move through the monitored space. Real-time communication is made possible with two-way audio, enabling remote conversations through the camera.

Eufy continues to prioritize user choice regarding video storage. The E30 supports local storage via an SD card, eliminating the need for paid subscription plans. For those seeking more comprehensive storage solutions, the camera is compatible with Eufy’s HomeBase S380, a base station offering up to 16TB of storage and advanced “BionicMind AI” facial recognition.

For users who prefer cloud storage, Eufy offers subscription plans starting at $2.99 per month (or $29.99 annually) for 30 days of video history on a single camera. The Eufy Plus plan, priced at $9.99 per month (or $99.99 annually), extends coverage to up to 10 cameras.

The Eufy Indoor Cam E30’s combination of upgraded 4K video resolution, AI-powered tracking, and flexible storage options makes it a compelling choice for smart home security. A full product review is expected soon as hands-on testing becomes available.
