Google Drive introduces integrated scanning feature for iOS devices
Google Drive has introduced a built-in document scanner for its iOS app, following its previous availability on Android. Users can now scan documents using the Drive app on their iPhone or iPad, and store and share them with others. The new update includes a camera Floating Action Button (FAB) placed above the Plus (+) button at the bottom right corner of the app. This launches a camera interface that scans the document in front of it, with guidelines to assist in positioning the camera for optimal quality. The scanner also supports back-to-back scans for multi-page documents. Once captured, users have various editing options such as cropping, rotating, and applying filters. The captured document can be saved directly to Google Drive. This update, version 4.2023.46227, is available for all types of Google accounts, including workspace and personal accounts.
