Google enhances document scanning capabilities in Drive, expands to iOS devices
Google Drive has announced that it is bringing its document scanning feature to iPhone users. This feature has been available on Android for over a decade but was previously unavailable on iOS devices. Google has also made improvements to the scanner in the Drive Android app. In addition to this, iPhone users in the US will have access to a title suggestion feature that automatically generates document titles based on recognized text in the scan. This feature was previously introduced on the Android version of Drive earlier this year. Google has also improved document scanning on Android, including features such as automatically capturing documents when they are in frame. Other major cloud storage providers such as Microsoft and Apple also offer native scanning features. The new scanning features from Google are now rolling out for iOS and are already available on Android. Users can access the scanner in the Drive app by tapping the camera icon or selecting “Scan” from the “+” icon menu.
