Homey Unveils Dashboards for Enhanced Smart Home Control

New Homey Dashboards offer customizable control panels for smart home devices on iOS and Android.

Homey, the universal smart home platform, has introduced a new feature called Homey Dashboards, designed to elevate user control over smart home devices. Accessible via the Homey app for iOS and Android, this feature provides customizable dashboards with widgets for functions such as temperature monitoring, energy usage tracking, device control, and automation.

The Dashboards aim to simplify smart home management by consolidating diverse functionalities into a single, intuitive interface. Whether monitoring energy consumption, adjusting lighting for specific moods, or checking home security systems, users can now perform these actions seamlessly.

Users can create and personalize multiple dashboards tailored to different scenarios. For example, a dashboard can focus on living room lighting and cameras, while another can handle media room controls. With a column-based design optimized for smartphones and tablets, navigation remains smooth and free of awkward horizontal scrolling. Moreover, the Homey app’s main Home screen now serves as a customizable dashboard.

Homey Dashboards come with over 25 built-in widgets covering a variety of tasks, from device management and automation flows to weather updates and camera feeds. Additionally, the platform supports third-party app-specific widgets through the Homey App Store, which now features a dedicated filter for finding compatible widgets.

To accommodate users with older hardware, Homey Dashboards are freely available for Homey Pro (Early 2023) and Homey Cloud users. Owners of older Homey Pro models (2016–2019) can access the feature with a one-time payment of €25, ensuring broader compatibility.

Homey Dashboards are rolling out with Homey Pro firmware version 12.1.0 and app version 9.0.0. Users of older Homey Pro devices can unlock these capabilities by updating their firmware. While free updates are often preferable, this paid upgrade option avoids forcing users to invest in new hardware.

Homey Pro devices, including the latest versions, are available for purchase through various retail platforms.
