Apple Unveils New iMac Featuring M4 Chip and Enhanced AI Capabilities

Apple’s latest iMac brings cutting-edge performance, vibrant colors, and advanced AI features in a sleek, ultra-thin design.

Apple today introduced a redesigned iMac powered by the M4 chip and Apple Intelligence, transforming user productivity, creativity, and connectivity. The iMac, now available in a variety of vibrant colors, promises enhanced performance and AI capabilities, while continuing Apple’s commitment to user privacy and eco-conscious design.

The M4 chip in the new iMac offers a 1.7x increase in productivity and 2.1x improvement for demanding tasks such as gaming and photo editing over its predecessor, the M1. Designed with an advanced Neural Engine, the M4 makes iMac the world’s top AI-powered all-in-one desktop, harnessing Apple Intelligence to enhance tasks such as content creation, gaming, and day-to-day workflows with privacy-focused, on-device processing. With its 8-core CPU and GPU options and memory upgrades up to 32GB, the M4 enables smooth and responsive use across diverse applications, from business tasks in Microsoft Excel to creative projects in Adobe Photoshop.

Apple Intelligence, available with macOS Sequoia 15.1, introduces personal AI capabilities like system-wide Writing Tools for rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing, along with enhanced Siri functions that support typed and spoken commands. Additional tools like Image Playground, Genmoji, and integration with ChatGPT are set to launch in December, promising unique and privacy-oriented ways for users to interact with AI.

In line with Apple’s eco-friendly approach, the new iMac features a 100% recycled aluminum stand, as well as recycled materials throughout its circuit boards, contributing to Apple’s carbon-neutral goal for global corporate operations by 2030. The iMac’s fiber-based packaging furthers Apple’s ongoing commitment to reduce plastic use.

The iMac sports a new 24-inch, 4.5K Retina display with a nano-texture glass option to reduce glare and improve image quality. It also includes a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View and an immersive six-speaker system, enabling enhanced video calls and audio experiences. Connectivity options are bolstered with up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports, support for Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. The new Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse also feature USB-C for easier device integration and charging.

Available to pre-order now in the United States and select regions, the iMac starts at $1,299, with educational pricing available at $1,249. It will arrive in stores on November 8, offering options such as an 8-core CPU/GPU or a 10-core variant, with storage configurations up to 2TB.
