Apple to Launch iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence Next Week

iOS 18.1 brings Apple Intelligence to users, with limited availability in India and full rollout planned for 2025.

Apple is preparing to launch iOS 18.1 next week, marking the official debut of its much-anticipated Apple Intelligence features. Initially revealed during the WWDC 2024 event, Apple Intelligence was expected to accompany iOS 18 but is now being rolled out with this updated version. According to industry insider Mark Gurman, the release is likely set for October 28.

Apple Intelligence introduces a suite of AI-powered tools, but Indian users will only have limited access initially. All features will be available exclusively in US English, with plans to introduce localized language support next year. Full functionality for Indian iPhone users is expected in future updates.

The first rollout of Apple Intelligence will include selected features, with additional updates extending into 2025. Gurman also suggests that iOS 18.2, scheduled for December, will introduce ChatGPT integration, Genmoji, and Image Playground. Early 2025 will see further updates with a revamped Siri experience in iOS 18.3 and 18.4.

Key features launching on October 28 include advanced writing tools for text editing, enhanced photo editing with Memory Movies, a new Clean-Up Tool, a revamped Siri interface, and Priority Notifications. Other updates include a customizable Control Centre, call recording and transcription for additional languages, and new camera control options for iPhone 16 users.

Despite limited access for Indian users, this release represents the first major step in Apple’s AI strategy, with broader support expected throughout 2025.
