Apple Initiates Free Repair Program for iPhone 14 Plus Camera Defect
Apple announces free repair service for iPhone 14 Plus models affected by a camera malfunction from April 2023 to April 2024.
Apple has introduced a free repair program for certain iPhone 14 Plus models with a defect affecting the main camera. This issue, which appears to be limited to a small number of devices, prevents the camera from displaying a live preview, significantly affecting the camera’s usability. The company has identified the problem in iPhone 14 Plus units manufactured between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024, though the exact number of affected units remains undisclosed.
For users experiencing this issue, Apple is offering a no-cost repair through Apple Stores and authorized service providers worldwide. Eligibility for the repair can be confirmed by entering the device’s serial number on Apple’s support page. If eligible, users can have their devices repaired free of charge. Apple has made it clear that this initiative does not extend the standard warranty on the iPhone 14 Plus, and the program will be available for three years from the device’s first retail sale date.
Apple has launched similar service programs in the past, including for issues with iPhone 12 receivers and certain AirPods Pro models that experienced audio issues.
