Apple Offers Free Repairs for iPhone 14 Plus Rear Camera Preview Issue

Apple launches a repair program for iPhone 14 Plus models with rear camera preview malfunctions

Apple has announced a free repair program for iPhone 14 Plus devices experiencing an issue with the rear camera preview, specifically affecting models manufactured between April 2023 and April 2024. The company has reported that a small percentage of these devices may encounter a failure to display a preview when using the rear camera. Affected users are eligible to receive repairs at no cost through Apple retail stores, authorized service providers, or via Apple’s mail-in service.

To verify eligibility, customers can enter their device’s serial number on Apple’s official service program webpage. The program provides repair coverage for three years from the device’s original purchase date, exclusively for the iPhone 14 Plus model, with no other iPhone models included in this specific service offer.

Apple has also stated that users who previously paid for repairs specifically related to this camera preview issue may contact the company to request a refund. However, devices must be free of other types of damage, such as cracked back glass, before the repair can be completed. Any additional damage may incur separate repair costs.

The iPhone 14 Plus rear camera program represents Apple’s first repair initiative since 2021, when the company provided repairs for earpiece issues in certain iPhone 12 models. Apple advises customers to back up their devices to iCloud or a computer before seeking repair. Furthermore, repair services may be limited to the original country or region where the device was purchased. This program does not extend the standard warranty of the iPhone 14 Plus.
