Apple Launches Free Repair Program for iPhone 14 Plus Rear Camera Issue

Apple offers a free repair program for certain iPhone 14 Plus models with rear camera preview problems

Apple has introduced a new service program for iPhone 14 Plus models following reports that a small number of devices show no rear camera preview. This issue marks Apple’s first iPhone service program since 2021, when certain iPhone 12 models required repair due to an earpiece speaker problem.

The current service program specifically targets iPhone 14 Plus models sold between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024, which may mean that nearly a year of iPhone 14 Plus production could be affected. Notably, this issue emerged after the device’s September 2022 release.

Owners of an iPhone 14 Plus can verify if their device is eligible by entering its serial number on Apple’s website. For those impacted, Apple will resolve the rear camera issue free of charge, provided there is no additional damage to the device. This program will cover eligible models for up to three years from the original purchase date. Additionally, customers who previously paid for repairs related to this specific issue may request a refund.

To complete the repair, Apple will first confirm eligibility. Customers then have several repair options to choose from. This service program applies solely to iPhone 14 Plus models purchased during the specified timeframe and does not extend to other models, such as the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, or iPhone 14 Pro Max.
