Rumors continue to point towards iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max featuring tetraprism camera lens
New reports suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro models will feature the tetraprism camera lens, which is currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is expected to be available on both the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the smaller iPhone 16 Pro. The term “tetraprism” refers to the folded glass that reflects light four times, allowing for a longer focal length and stronger zoom of 120mm. According to trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 Pro did not have the tetraprism lens due to space constraints. However, the slightly larger display of the iPhone 16 Pro compared to the iPhone 15 Pro could potentially accommodate the tetraprism lens. Kuo has reiterated his belief that the iPhone 16 Pro models will indeed come with the tetraprism lens, citing an increase in Apple’s order for folded glass, which is used for these lenses. Another Apple supplier, LG Innotek, has also reported that Apple will be increasing the number of models equipped with the tetraprism lens. However, production yield issues have been a challenge for multiple companies, including LG Innotek, so Apple may need to use multiple suppliers to avoid production delays for the iPhone 16.
