iPhone 16 Pro Users Report Widespread Issues Including Battery Drain, Freezes, and Camera Crashes

iPhone 16 Pro owners are facing a growing list of problems, from battery drain and UI freezes to camera app crashes.

iPhone 16 Pro users are reporting a range of serious issues with their devices, adding to growing concerns for Apple’s flagship product. Over the past week, complaints have surfaced about excessive battery drain, particularly following the iOS 18 update. Users have noted that the battery often depletes rapidly even in standby mode, suggesting a background activity issue might be responsible.

New reports now point to further complications, including UI freezes and problems with the camera app. Many users, including some on Reddit and Apple’s official discussion forums, have experienced random freezing, especially when using the camera app. A recurring issue involves the device restarting randomly during use or while charging, and for some, system restarts don’t resolve these glitches.

UI problems seem to go beyond the camera, with users experiencing lag, buggy animations, and failed restart attempts using the Power and volume buttons. Multiple users have shared instances of the camera app freezing while zooming or searching for focus, with the app sometimes crashing when trying to capture photos. One user highlighted that while attempting to take pictures with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the app consistently crashes, preventing photos from being taken.

Video capturing has also become problematic, particularly when recording in 4K or ultrawide modes. Editing Live Photos has proven challenging as well, with the Photos app crashing mid-edit, discarding any changes made.

Beyond the camera, other native apps like Siri, Settings, and Calendar are experiencing frequent crashes. Users have reported that the Calendar app freezes when trying to select specific dates, while the Settings app often turns black before crashing. These problems persist across multiple iPhone 16 Pro units, even after forced resets. Third-party apps, including Amazon, are also reportedly glitchy.

Some users have noted issues with the built-in keyboard, where it sometimes fails to type even though touch strokes are registered. As of now, Apple has not officially acknowledged these issues or provided a fix, leaving users waiting for a resolution.
