Kuo predicts iPhone 16 Pro to feature a 120 mm camera once more

A supply chain report states that the smaller version of the iPhone 16 Pro will feature Apple’s tetraprism 120 mm camera, which will drive demand for the technology in 2024. Despite the recent release of the iPhone 15 Pro Max in September, rumors have already begun circulating about the iPhone 16 Pro inheriting this particular camera. Currently, the 120 mm focal length is exclusive to Apple’s largest pro model, but it is expected to be included in the smaller pro models in 2024. According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this move will result in a 160% year-over-year growth in iPhones equipped with this technology, as opposed to the initial estimate of 110% due to lower yield rates. However, Apple and Largan are working together to increase the yield rate and make the component more profitable to assemble. Largan, the supplier of the component, also provides periscope lenses to Huawei, which is expected to increase its use of the tetraprism camera in 2024. Given Kuo’s track record of accuracy and attention to supply chain reporting, his report is considered more reliable.
