iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max Camera App Failing to Open

Hello everyone, hoping to pool together a thread for those with iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max camera issues.

At least once a day, my Camera app crashes entirely. When I open the app, I see a black screen where the camera view should be, and within a few seconds, the app closes and returns to the home screen. The only way to temporarily fix this is by restarting the phone. After a restart, the Camera app functions normally, allowing both the front and rear cameras to work. However, the issue reoccurs the next day or so, forcing me to restart the phone again.

I’ve encountered this problem three times so far, and it happens randomly, always requiring a full restart to fix. The issue is limited to the Camera app for me.

I contacted Apple Support, and after running a diagnostic on the device, they confirmed that there were no hardware or software issues. They wanted me to bring in my phone to the Apple Store but I don’t believe it’s a hardware issue. Their only response was to submit feedback which I did.
