Leaked iPhone 16 Prototype Mockups Showcase Redesigned Camera Layout and Revised Volume Buttons

Apple is rumored to be working on a new external design for its iPhone 16 series of smartphones. Mockups created by MacRumors reveal potential design options for the rear and side of the iPhone 16. The mockups show a redesigned camera module with a capacitive capture button and an Action button, which would replace the mute switch on the iPhone 15 Pro models. The first mockup features a vertically aligned rear camera layout, while the second mockup shows the phone with mechanical volume buttons and a camera module similar to the iPhone 12. The third model has a black colorway with a larger Action button and a capture button that could be capacitive. Reports suggest that Apple plans to include the Action button on all iPhone 16 models next year. However, it is still uncertain whether the Action button and the dedicated camera button will be capacitive or mechanical. Apple’s plans for the iPhone 16 could change or evolve as it is still early in the development cycle.
