iPhone 16 Review: Camera Control Impresses, but We're Still Waiting for Apple Intelligence

iPhone 16 Review: Camera Control is a Nice Touch, But We Are Really Waiting for Apple Intelligence

The iPhone 16 introduces some significant new features, with Camera Control being a standout. This physical button offers a seamless experience, allowing users to quickly launch the camera and take photos without having to open the app. The button is tactile, making it usable even with gloves or a phone case, and it improves the speed at which you can capture moments, something often seen as crucial for photographers. However, some users have reported that it takes time to get accustomed to its sensitivity, as accidental taps can disrupt the camera’s settings or zoom controls.

Camera Control works with a revamped camera system, which includes a 48MP main camera and a 12MP 2X zoom camera, allowing for better image quality and improved low-light performance. New features like macro photography have also been introduced, thanks to the improved ultra-wide camera. The Camera Control button is customizable, allowing users to modify how it responds to pressure and which apps it launches.

Apple Intelligence, however, is the most anticipated feature, although it has not been fully integrated at launch. It promises to bring AI-powered enhancements like “Visual Intelligence,” which will provide real-time feedback on photos and help users with tasks such as reverse image search. This could significantly enhance the iPhone 16’s functionality in the future, but as of now, these features are still under development and not yet available.

The iPhone 16 also brings updates to video recording, with support for 4K 120fps, and new AI-enhanced editing tools within the Photos app. The improvements to Photographic Styles allow for more precise control over color, shadows, and highlights, making it easier for users to create professional-looking images without needing to edit extensively afterward.

While the Camera Control is a promising addition and Apple Intelligence holds potential, many are left waiting for the full capabilities of these features to be realized with future updates.
