Apple Reportedly Developing Ultra-Thin iPhone 17 Air Model

Apple is reportedly working on an ultra-thin model for its upcoming iPhone 17 series, which could be branded as the iPhone 17 Air. According to a research note by Jeff Pu, an analyst from Haitong International, the new iPhone 17 Air will replace the “Plus” variant and sit between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro in terms of positioning.

Expected to launch in September next year, the iPhone 17 Air may feature an aluminum body, setting it apart from the titanium Pro models with its lighter weight. The device is rumored to include a 6.6-inch display, offering a sizable screen for users who want a large phone without the bulk of the Pro models.

Powered by a 3 nanometer A19 chipset, similar to the A18 Pro found in the iPhone 16 Pro models, the iPhone 17 Air is likely to come equipped with 8GB of RAM. This powerful combination will ensure smooth performance for a wide range of tasks.

On the camera front, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to sport a single rear camera with a 48MP sensor, providing users with high-quality photography. For selfies, the front-facing camera may feature a 24MP sensor. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Air will include Face ID for secure access to the device.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to introduce a new design, aligning with Apple’s emphasis on both aesthetics and functionality. It will also incorporate Apple Intelligence features, though specifics on these innovations remain scarce.
