Apple Rumored to Retain Triangular Camera Design for iPhone 17 Pro
Leaks suggest Apple may retain the triangular camera layout for iPhone 17 Pro, but design debates continue.
Rumors surrounding the iPhone 17 Pro, expected to launch in 2025, suggest that Apple will retain its signature triangular camera layout despite ongoing debates. According to leaker Instant Digital, known for a mixed track record with Apple predictions, the rear design of the iPhone 17 Pro will undergo changes, but the camera setup will remain triangular. This stands in contrast to other recent reports from China’s supply chain, which hinted at a horizontal, elongated oval design.
Apple first introduced the triangular camera configuration with the iPhone 11 Pro to accommodate an Ultra Wide Camera alongside its primary and telephoto lenses. The setup has remained consistent across subsequent Pro models, including the upcoming iPhone 16 series.
The Information recently reported that the iPhone 17 Pro and its larger counterpart, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, may feature a rectangular camera bump crafted from aluminum rather than traditional 3D glass. The back design could incorporate a half-aluminum, half-glass structure, with the glass portion facilitating wireless charging. Additionally, an aluminum frame is anticipated for the device, emphasizing durability and a refined aesthetic.
While these rumors paint a conflicting picture of the iPhone 17 Pro’s rear camera design, they underline Apple’s ongoing focus on innovation and functional aesthetics for its flagship smartphones.
