iPhone 17 Pro set to receive major camera enhancements! Discover the key factors behind this significant upgrade.
Apple is rumored to introduce a tetraprism lens to the iPhone 16 Pro, which could enhance its photographic capabilities. This lens, also known as the periscope lens or telephoto camera, is currently only available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, reports suggest that both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max could feature it next year. This rumor comes after Apple’s periscope lens supplier, Lagran, increased its yield rates. Lagran has been working to improve the number of modules that pass quality checks, leading to increased profitability. This increased yield is speculated to be the reason why Apple may bring the telephoto camera to the iPhone 16 Pro. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that this move could result in a 160% year-over-year growth in iPhones equipped with this camera in 2024. Additionally, there are reports that Apple plans to increase the size of the iPhone 16 Pro from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches in order to accommodate the larger telephoto lens. Some sources also claim that Apple may use special molded glass lenses for the telephoto camera, enabling the company to fit larger lenses without compromising the iPhone’s compact design.
