Apple iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max To Feature Tetraprism Camera Technology

Apple is reportedly planning to introduce tetraprism camera technology to its iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models next year. This technology is expected to provide a minimum of 5x optical zoom and 25x digital zoom on the Telephoto lens. The company is also rumored to include LG Innotek as an additional supplier for the folded zoom module, in order to meet the increased demand for units. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has consistently predicted the adoption of the tetraprism lens, offering up to 5x optical zoom, in both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. There are also rumors that the iPhone 16 Pro may have a larger 6.3-inch display and the Pro variants are likely to offer a higher refresh rate with a 120Hz screen. The standard iPhone 16 models may see a design change, potentially reverting to the vertical camera layout seen in the iPhone 12 models. Additionally, there may be an Action Button that replaces the mute switch, which could be introduced in the entire iPhone 16 lineup in 2024.
