iPhone 17 Pro Models Rumored to Feature 48MP Telephoto Camera and 12GB of RAM
Analyst predicts significant upgrades for iPhone 17 Pro models, including a 48MP telephoto camera and improved performance.
Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro models, expected to launch in September 2025, are already the subject of exciting speculation. Analyst Jeff Pu has provided insights into the potential upgrades, which include a 48-megapixel telephoto rear camera and a 24-megapixel front camera, both significant improvements over the iPhone 16 Pro models’ 12-megapixel cameras. This change aims to enhance photo clarity and detail for both telephoto and selfie shots.
The iPhone 17 Pro models are also rumored to feature 12GB of RAM, up from the 8GB found in the iPhone 16 Pro. This increase would contribute to smoother performance, especially for Apple Intelligence tasks and multitasking. Pu also mentioned a notable design change in the iPhone 17 Pro Max, with a smaller Dynamic Island due to the implementation of a more compact “metalens” for the Face ID system. This marks the first size reduction for Dynamic Island since it debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro models.
The screen sizes for the iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to remain at 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max, while they will likely be powered by Apple’s new A19 Pro chip, which will continue using TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process, similar to the A18 Pro chip in the iPhone 16 series.
Apple fans can also anticipate a regular iPhone 17 and an all-new, slimmer “iPhone 17 Air” model, expected to launch alongside the Pro versions. As excitement builds for these new models, Apple’s innovation continues to push boundaries in design, performance, and camera technology.
