Leaked Renders Suggest Significant Design Changes for iPhone 17 Series
Early leaks of iPhone 17 suggest a new pill-shaped camera module and potential design tweaks, with possible thinner models in the lineup.
Recent leaks have provided an early glimpse into the design direction for Apple’s next generation of smartphones, the iPhone 17 series, just months after the launch of the iPhone 16. According to reports from the Chinese tech site Gizmochina, the rear panel of the iPhone 17 could see significant changes, particularly in the camera module.
Images shared by the well-known insider Digital Chat Station on the Chinese social media platform Weibo depict a new pill-shaped camera module, reminiscent of the iPhone 16 base model but with a more rearranged design. The updated design closely resembles that of the Google Pixel 9’s camera layout, suggesting Apple may adopt a fresh approach for the iPhone 17’s rear camera setup. These renders show three camera sensors alongside an LED flash, likely referring to the iPhone 17 Pro variant.
One intriguing detail in the leaks is the potential inclusion of a dedicated camera button on the side of the device, offering users quicker access to photography functions. The leaked images suggest that these changes could mark some of the boldest design alterations for the iPhone in recent years, particularly with the iPhone 17 Pro.
Although the exact camera specifications remain unclear, rumors point to the possibility of a new iPhone 17 Air model, which might be 2 mm thinner than the iPhone 16. However, given the early nature of these leaks, all details should be taken with caution.
Additionally, the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup is expected to feature next-generation display technology, continuing Apple’s tradition of upgrading its screen quality with each new release. While Android manufacturers may adopt similar design elements, the iPhone 17’s changes are expected to set it apart in terms of both aesthetics and functionality.
