iPhone 17 Rumors Suggest Major Camera and Hardware Upgrades
Apple might discontinue the Plus series and introduce significant camera improvements in the iPhone 17 lineup.
Apple is already making headlines with rumors about the iPhone 17, even as the iPhone 16 has just been released. Reports suggest Apple may discontinue its Plus series, opting instead for a simpler lineup with the base iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
There are also whispers of a brand-new model, possibly called the iPhone 17 Air or Slim, with its main selling point expected to be a sleeker design.
However, the most significant upgrade might come in the form of camera improvements. According to sources like tipster Jeff Pu and GSMArena, the iPhone 17 Pro could feature a 24MP front camera, doubling the current 12MP front camera on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. The telephoto lens is also expected to receive a significant upgrade, with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max offering a 48MP lens—four times the resolution of the current iPhone 16 Pro’s 12MP telephoto camera.
On the hardware side, the top-tier iPhone 17 models will likely be powered by the A19 Pro chip, include 12GB of RAM, and boast a faster display refresh rate. While the exact release date is not confirmed, it is expected to follow Apple’s usual September launch schedule next year.
As the iPhone 16 introduces Apple Intelligence, the iPhone 17 is expected to take that feature even further, integrating it seamlessly into daily use. While details are still limited and subject to change, anticipation is building around Apple’s next major device launch.
