Renders of what the iPhone 17 Slim could look like

The iPhone 17 Slim is expected to feature impressive updates but will lack a telephoto camera.

The rumored iPhone 17 Slim, set for release in 2025, is anticipated to offer several advanced features but will not include a telephoto camera. According to a report, this feature will remain exclusive to Pro-level models in the iPhone 17 lineup.

Insights from TheElec reveal that LG Innotek is investing 375.9 billion won (approximately $267.4 million) into camera module facilities aimed at supporting the iPhone 17 series. While camera specifications for the non-Pro versions are expected to improve, the folded zoom telephoto lens will only be featured in the Pro models.

For non-Pro models, including the iPhone 17 Slim, the camera setup is likely to consist of two lenses: a standard wide and an ultra-wide lens. However, due to the design challenges of the iPhone 17 Slim, which is rumored to have a thickness of just 6mm, Apple might only include one camera in this model. Despite this limitation, Apple may employ digital cropping techniques with a high-resolution wide-angle lens to simulate a two-camera effect, similar to previous strategies.

The iPhone 17 Slim is expected to include an A19 chip, a 6.6-inch display, and a 24-megapixel front camera. While lacking Pro-level features, its slim design and enhanced camera software could make it a standout choice for users prioritizing aesthetics and performance.
