iPhone SE 4 Expected to Feature OLED Display and 48MP Camera for 2025 Release

The upcoming iPhone SE 4, slated for March 2025, could offer premium features like an OLED display and 48MP camera at a budget price.

Apple is preparing to launch the next iteration of its budget-friendly iPhone SE, with the iPhone SE 4 set for a March 2025 release. Early reports suggest this model will feature several significant upgrades, potentially making it one of the most advanced budget smartphones on the market.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to incorporate technology from the iPhone 16 series, including a 6.1-inch OLED display. This would mark a major shift from previous SE models, which relied on LCD panels. The OLED display, made using LTPS technology, is expected to deliver superior color accuracy, better contrast, and improved energy efficiency. Suppliers LG Display and BOE are reportedly responsible for manufacturing the screens, with LG Display expected to handle about 25-35% of the orders.

Additionally, the iPhone SE 4 could feature a 48-megapixel rear camera, a significant step up from its predecessors and aligning it with the high-end iPhone 16. This would make the SE 4 the most advanced camera-equipped model in the SE lineup, offering higher resolution and enhanced low-light performance. A 12-megapixel front-facing camera could also be included, potentially introducing Face ID functionality, which would replace the current Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Mass production of these components has already begun at LG Innoteck’s Vietnam facility, with Foxconn and Cowell Electronics also involved in the assembly. However, to keep costs down, Apple is expected to continue using existing camera components rather than developing entirely new ones for the SE 4.

Apple’s approach with the iPhone SE 4 seems clear: to bring premium features such as an OLED display, advanced camera technology, and Face ID to a more affordable price point. By leveraging existing technology and a global supply chain, the iPhone SE 4 could redefine the budget smartphone market, offering an experience similar to more expensive models without the high price tag.
