Apple’s iPhone SE 4 Set for 2025 Release with Enhanced Features
The iPhone SE 4, with upgraded specs and design, targets an early 2025 launch.
Apple’s upcoming affordable smartphone, the iPhone SE 4, is expected to enter mass production by December. Set for a March 2025 release, the iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to bring major upgrades over the previous SE model.
The device will feature a 6.06-inch OLED screen, setting it apart from Apple’s other models like the iPhone 16 by incorporating a notch to support Face ID and a front camera. However, the display will be capped at a 60Hz refresh rate. The new iPhone SE 4 will be powered by Apple’s A18 chip, the same processor found in the iPhone 16 base models, paired with 8GB of RAM and starting at 128GB of storage—double the memory of its predecessor, which had 4GB.
One of the most notable changes will be Apple’s first in-house modem, known as “Centauri,” produced by TSMC, which is expected to improve the device’s connectivity capabilities. The iPhone SE 4 will retain a single-camera system but with a significant sensor upgrade from 12MP to 48MP. The front camera will feature a 12MP sensor for clearer selfies and FaceTime calls.
Battery life will also see a boost, with a 3,279mAh battery capacity compared to the previous model’s 2,018mAh, supporting the demands of the larger display. The device will offer 20W wired charging and, for the first time in the SE lineup, compatibility with MagSafe accessories.
With its enhanced specs, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to have a starting price increase from the current $429, likely ranging between $499 and $549. This price adjustment reflects the significant upgrades but may challenge Apple’s position in the budget smartphone segment if the increase isn’t kept modest.
