Apple Launches Free Repair Program for iPhone 14 Plus Rear Camera Issue
Apple initiates free repair service for specific iPhone 14 Plus units to fix rear camera malfunction.
Apple has introduced a free repair program for specific iPhone 14 Plus models to resolve an issue affecting their rear cameras. The tech giant identified that some units, manufactured between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024, may experience a problem where the rear camera does not display an image preview. This program aims to assist affected users by offering a no-cost repair solution at authorized Apple service centers.
To verify if a device qualifies for this repair, iPhone 14 Plus owners can check the eligibility by visiting Apple’s support page and entering their device’s serial number. Users can find their phone’s serial number by navigating to Settings > General > About on their device, where they can copy the number for easy entry on the support page.
Once eligibility is confirmed, affected customers can bring their devices to an authorized service center for the repair. This repair program covers eligible devices for three years from the original purchase date, providing ample time for users to resolve the issue. Furthermore, customers who have previously paid for the rear camera repair on their iPhone 14 Plus may be eligible for a refund under this program.
It is important to note that the program requires certain conditions to be met before proceeding with the repair. If the rear glass of the device is cracked, customers must first address this issue at their own expense before the free camera repair can be conducted. This policy ensures that additional damage does not hinder the repair process, allowing Apple to focus on resolving the specific camera malfunction for affected iPhone 14 Plus users.
