iPhone 16 Camera Tips to Capture Unforgettable Diwali Moments

Photographers share tips to make the most of the iPhone 16’s advanced camera features for this year’s Diwali celebration.

Indian photographers are gearing up for this year’s Diwali with tips on how to use the iPhone 16’s camera features to capture stunning and dynamic images during the festival. Diwali is one of the most vibrant times of the year, with moments that feel entirely unique, making it difficult for a single camera lens to capture the full spectacle. However, the iPhone 16, equipped with its 48MP Fusion, Telephoto, and Ultra Wide cameras, provides a solution by essentially putting four lenses in one’s pocket.

Joshua Karthik, a well-known photographer and director, emphasized the benefits of using the iPhone 16 Pro and Max’s ultra-wide capabilities. The 48MP sensor allows for extraordinary image quality, perfect for capturing the festival’s various elements. Karthik advises using the ultra-wide mode, accessible by tapping the 0.5 icon in the camera app, to take wide-angle shots of group photos, lights, and close-up details, producing what he described as “ultra-wide magic.”

The iPhone 16 also introduces a new feature called Camera Control, allowing for quick access to the camera by double-tapping, making it easier to capture spontaneous moments. Mastering the camera’s menu system enables faster and more professional-looking photos, according to Karthik.

Travel photographer Gursimran Basra highlighted the power of the 48MP Fusion camera in capturing fine details in low light, such as the glow of Diwali lamps or portraits bathed in natural light. Basra noted that this feature allows users to achieve breathtaking results, particularly in low-light settings.

For those looking to personalize their images, the iPhone 16 allows users to create custom moods for their photos through the Styles feature. Adjusting tone, color palette, and intensity enables consistency across all Diwali shots, adding depth to the final images.

This year, the Pro versions of the iPhone also support 120fps recording in 4K, providing high-speed shooting capabilities. This feature is perfect for capturing and slowing down motion, whether it’s children playing, flames dancing, or any other fast-paced activity, adding a dramatic effect to videos.
