Apple Unveils Powerful New MacBook Pro with M4 Family Chips
Apple redefines mobile video editing with the M4 MacBook Pro, elevating performance for professionals
Apple has announced the release of the latest MacBook Pro, now equipped with the M4 chip family, marking a new era of advanced performance in Apple’s lineup. The 14-inch and 16-inch models are designed to meet the needs of creative professionals, boasting increased CPU, GPU, and memory capabilities that redefine video editing workflows and demanding computational tasks.
The new MacBook Pro models are powered by three chip options: M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max. With these chips, Apple has increased CPU efficiency with a 10-core CPU in the base M4 model, while the M4 Pro and M4 Max models introduce Thunderbolt 5 for enhanced data transfer speeds. The devices also include up to 128GB of unified memory in the M4 Max variant, making complex, high-bandwidth workflows smooth and fast. Alongside this, the M4 Max’s advanced GPU and Neural Engine have been optimized for AI and machine learning tasks.
With the latest update, Apple has introduced a 12MP Center Stage camera, ensuring high-quality video calls and an enhanced video editing experience. The screen also gets an upgrade, with the addition of a nano-texture display option on the Liquid Retina XDR display, which reaches a brightness of up to 1000 nits in SDR. The MacBook Pro’s design has also been enhanced with the choice of a sleek space black finish alongside the classic silver.
For video editors, this MacBook Pro presents unparalleled support for high-resolution editing workflows. Paired with the iPhone 16 Pro, which captures 4K120 fps ProRes footage, editing on Final Cut Pro becomes seamless, as Apple claims the M4 Max “cuts like butter” through high-quality footage. This improvement, combined with the device’s support for up to 8K HDMI output, makes the MacBook Pro an attractive choice for creatives who need portable but powerful tools for intensive video production and visual effects work.
With this release, Apple aims to reestablish the MacBook Pro as a leader in mobile professional video editing. The M4 line has been built on second-generation 3-nanometer technology, ensuring both power and efficiency, and boasting a battery life of up to 24 hours. Apple’s new M4 Max, designed for maximum output, features a 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU, capable of handling complex 3D animations, large language models, and tasks that previously required desktop-grade equipment.
The latest MacBook Pro is available for pre-order starting at $1,599 for the 14-inch model with the M4 chip, with delivery and in-store availability beginning on November 8 across the United States and 27 other regions.
