MyQ blocks third-party support & Matic is a new style of vacuum

MyQ, the smart garage door opener by Chamberlain, has been in the news recently for discontinuing its support for HomeKit and Google Home. Now, the company has announced that it is purposefully blocking all API access, which means plugins like HomeBridge are no longer functional.

In other news, Matic has unveiled its new robotic vacuum cleaner, set to launch in 2024. This vacuum cleaner is designed to never get trapped or stuck like existing smart home vacuums, although it does come with a high price tag.

On this week’s episode of the HomeKit Insider podcast, the hosts also discuss the best HomeKit light switches currently available. They mention an upcoming model that is launching on Kickstarter.
