This holiday season, Apple has introduced a new feature called Spatial Video, which allows users to record 3D video on their iPhones. This feature will allow users to relive their memories in an immersive way using an Apple Vision Pro headset.

Though Apple only launched the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro recently, rumors have already begun about the iPhone 16 lineup coming in 2024. We’re expecting some bigger changes with the iPhone 16 than we got with the iPhone 15.

The Vision And The 48-Megapixels Apple is expected to pack a 48-megapixel camera into the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. Industry Analyst Jeff Pu notes the potential for a camera system designed around both a 48-megapixel sensor and the upcoming Apple Vision Pro.

Their predecessors – the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus – have only a 12-megapixel main lens. In contrast, some of its competitors, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, released in August, also have a 12-megapixel main camera only.

Apple is rumored to be launching the iPhone 16 Pro, which will feature a 5x periscope camera. This is a similar setup to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, with no significant improvements expected.

The iPhone 16 launch is about nine months away and rumors suggest that all models will feature new A18 chips. The Pro versions are expected to have a better “A18 Pro” version.

Although the launch date for the next-generation iPhone 16 is still a distant point on the calendar, rumors are already buzzing. Recent speculation suggesting the inclusion of a tetraprism lens for the iPhone 16 Pro gains more traction as another source supports the claim.

The iPhone 15 Pro models received MKBHD’s best camera award for this year, with Samsung being the runner-up in the category. This year, only the iPhone 15 Pro Max features a tetraprism telephoto camera that offers up to 5x optical zoom.

Apple is reportedly planning to introduce a new tetraprism camera lens, similar to the one found in the iPhone 15 Pro Max, in its upcoming iPhone 16 Pro. The tetraprism lens allows Apple to fold light and create a telephoto lens capable of a 5x optical zoom, surpassing the 3x zoom of previous models and the telephoto lens on the iPhone 15 Pro.

The iPhone 16 Pro is set to receive a major camera upgrade, including the long-rumored tetraprism Telephoto lens, which will greatly improve zoom functionality. Both the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will also feature larger screens.
