Snapchat Camera Now Accessible from iPhone Lock Screen with iOS 18 Update
Snapchat camera will soon be accessible directly from the iPhone Lock Screen, thanks to iOS 18’s new feature allowing app customization.
With the release of iOS 18, iPhone users can now customize their Lock Screen controls, replacing the standard Camera app and flashlight options with supported third-party apps or shortcut actions. Snapchat is among the first apps to embrace this new feature, allowing users to launch its camera directly from the Lock Screen.
While the standard Camera app could always be accessed by swiping right-to-left on the Lock Screen, this update gives users more flexibility in how they access their favorite apps. Snapchat’s upcoming update will enable the app’s “Camera Only” mode when launched from the Lock Screen. Although users can take a Snap in this mode, additional features like filters and posting will require unlocking the phone through Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode.
This update is part of Snapchat’s broader support for iOS 18, with the camera integration expected to roll out later this week. Users must be running iOS 18 to take advantage of this new feature, which further streamlines access to essential apps without unlocking the phone fully.
